After a Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta successful victory back in April 1, 2017 against Mexico’s Gilberto “El Flacco” Gonazalez (26-4-0), Mercito faced another veteran in the sports of boxing named Martin “El Brochas” Honorio (33-11-1), who is also from Mexico City at the fabulous LA Forum.  The arena was packed with No Mercy fans who cheered him on from opening bell until Mercito claimed victory by referee stoppage in the 8th round.  Mercito’s 31st victory was by TKO despite getting cut twice due to head butts by Martin Honorio.

Overall, Mercito controlled the fight as the Legendary Coach Freddie Roach, Paul Mayorquin, his father Anecito Gesta, and cut-woman Marites Macasadia guided him to victory.  This was the first fight with Coach Freddie Roach in his corner.  As Mercito explained, “Coach Freddie kept me focused and calm.  I love the way he is in the corner.  I just listen to him and follow his guidance and direction.  We have a great dynamic in the corner and I like it a lot”.

Fans from all ages came from various cities in the States and from abroad.  The fight was aired live on RingTV.com promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
