It was glorious day today as Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta visited the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles to meet with the Legendary Boxing Coach, Freddie Roach. Mercito excitedly stated, “It’s always an honor to speak and now soon to be training with one of the best coaches in boxing history.” As Mercito’s father always said, “It is important to know how adapt to your opponent, and use the boxing techniques that you practiced and learned.” With Coach Freddie, Mercito will now have the additional boxing knowledge and the Hall of Fame Coach Freddie Roach in his corner. Thanks to Coach Freddie, Marvin Somodio, and the Wild Card Gym family for the hospitality today.

As Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is undergoing an intensive rehab with Glen Beato (Total PT Clinical Director and Strength & Conditioning Coach), Mercito hit the gym on Saturday, May 21, 2016 for a limited workout on the speed bag. Mercito felt good as he stated, “It’s nice to be in the gym, nice to get to punch something even though it’s only light things right now. I’m feeling good and I’m getting stronger every day. Thanks to the Rhino Gym for allowing me to use their facility.”
In addition to his workout, Mercito was interviewed by Valerie Gonzalez (Los Angeles based reporter) from the Eagle Broadcasting Corp of the Philippines. Mercito appreciated Valerie’s and the EBC crew for their time in traveling down to Vista, CA.

Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta was the guest athlete at the 8th Annual Miracle Babies 5K walk or run to bring awareness for their cause and help raise money for families with babies in the NICU. Families from surrounding areas and participants of all levels enjoyed the festivities at the 5k event which was held at the San Diego NTC Park – Liberty Station. Mercito met his fans and families, took pictures, and signed autographs. Overall, a great day in supporting this great cause and non-profit organization.
