The 3 day show continues to be completely FREE for boxers, gyms, friends, family and all Boxing fans! This is the first year we will have two rings to accommodate all Boxers.

Filipino boxer Mercito Gesta (left) suffers just the first knockout loss of his career agaisnst Mexico’s Juan Antonio Rodriguez in Hollywood, California.

Filipino boxer Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta was on the wrong end of a knockout as he fell to Mexican Juan Antonio Rodriguez in the ninth round of their ten-round main event bout at The Avalon in Hollywood, California, Friday morning, Manila time. 

Gesta and Rodriguez kept the fight close as they went back-and-forth up until the ninth round. 

Early in the ninth, Gesta came out more active and aggressive, but it was Rodriguez who managed stagger Gesta late. Rodriguez went on to overwhelm Gesta with body shots until the bout was stopped at the 2:55 mark of the ninth round. 

Gesta, who challenged for the WBA Lightweight World Championship against Jorge Linares back in early-2018, suffers just his third career loss, his first by way of knockout. he drops to 32-2-2. 

Rodriguez, a former WBA world title contender as well, improves to 29-7 with 26 KOs to his name.

Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is making his return back to the ring on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Opponent is scheduled to be named at a later time. This is Mercito’s first fight in 2019, after scoring a 10-round majority decision over Roberto “Tito” Manzanarez in a lightweight bout on ESPN card at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Mercito captured the WBO NABO Lightweight title in a thrilling fight against a young and determined fighter.
