These snap shots were taken in the Philippines during Mercito’s childhood while training with his father and current trainer Anecito Gesta. From these childhood pictures, you could see his fighting stance forming, pristine accuracy, and his desire to be the best.

As Mercito continues to train everyday in the C.MAC gym in National City, his mind is strong and his focus is intense as he awaits his opponent for the tentative date of August 3rd, 2012 on ESPN Friday Night Fights. As Coach Vince Parra and Cut-Man Stephen Lunas noted, Team Gesta is trying to bring the fight home to San Diego in front of all the No Mercy Army. Mercito is tremendously excited about the possibilities of fighting in his home town surrounded by all of his loyal fans. In addition, there have been numerous talks, especially by Bob Arum at Top Rank Promotions, that Mercito will have the opportunity to fight for a world title in November 2012 against Miguel Vazquez.

Last night, Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta received the Certificate of Appreciation for his invaluable support of the Filipino Community & Filipino-American Heritage Gala 2012 at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center, San Diego, CA.
